As we head into a season that shouts, “Joy!” we understand that for many, Christmas can be a time of loneliness, sorrow, and sadness. Blue Christmas is a service of healing and hope, designed for those who are experiencing hardship this season to receive the compassionate love of God and others. Yet, this is not just a service for those who are hurting. While many come to receive, the rest of us come to give. May we be a people who mourn with those who mourn and show comfort to others in the same way that we have been comforted by God in the past.
