On Sunday, October 24th we are honored to have Dr. JoAnne Lyon with us at Hope Chapel. She will be joining us in our Olathe Location and will be streamed to our KCK and Lee’s Summit locations.
Dr. JoAnne Lyon is a prominent Christian leader and influential voice in the church today. She has served as the General Superintendent for the Wesleyan church and is the founder of World Hope International – a Christian relief and development organization working across 30 countries with vulnerable and exploited communities to alleviate poverty, suffering, and injustice.
In addition to her 30 years in pastoral ministry, she serves on the board of directors of many organizations including the National Association of Evangelicals, Bread for the World, National Religious Partnership for the Environment, Asbury Theological Seminary, Council on Faith of the World Economic Forum, and has also served in the President of the United States’ Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
Dr. Lyon holds a master’s degree in counseling and has continued graduate studies in historical theology and has been granted five honorary doctorates. She has written several articles and publications, including the book The Ultimate Blessing. Dr. Lyon and her husband, Rev. Wayne Lyon, live in the Indianapolis area and have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
